Fragments from a nightmare

I took this picture a time a go but I had forgotten all about it and today I have taken som new shots and when I was about to download the to the computer I saw this and remembered that I was about to do alot with this pic and then my photosho crashed so... Well anyway here it is, a little colomanipulated and a little darkened but not much else.
Can you guess what the thing coming out from the fog is?

Anyways it's for the "fragments from a dream" theme but I changed it to fragments from a nightmare. May come up some more simular pics
